StormStock team intercepts "Mothership" supercell in Oklahoma
The StormStock “high plains” crew successfully tracked down and filmed what some are calling one of the most amazing storms ever photographed. The thunderstorm, called a "supercell", was spinning so hard it produced a highly-striated "mothership" appearance as it passed near the town of Slapout, Oklahoma last May. It formed when just the right amount of warm, moist air and wind shear combined to create the uniquely sculpted cloud.
